ūdho!, maiyā soṁ kahiyo jāya
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
(Shrī Kṛishṇa, from Mathurā is sending a message to His mother, Yashodā through Uddhava.) Oh Uddhava! Say to My mother with great politeness, “Your son has sent His humble obeisance to you, with His head laid on your lotus-feet. He has further asked me to tell you that although, in Mathurā, He is endowed with all kingly opulence in matter of food, clothes and other things, yet, because of being devoid of motherly-love, they all fail to attract Him even in the least.” If Maiyā asks you why, then, does He not come back, tell her that He reflects day and night, “I gave My divine abode even to the demoness, Pūtanā, who tried to kill Me by suckling Me, applying deadliest poison on her breasts. Then, how can I repay My mother who nursed Me with nectar from her breasts?” If Maiyā asks as to what I have eventually decided after having contemplated for so long, tell her that I will be indebted to her for countless ages since I have nothing more to give to her than My abode. Even if I come, I will not be able to face her. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, supporting Shrī Kṛishṇa, says that in the world also, we observe that a debtor who is unable to repay his debts, flees to another country.
