Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Challenging Shyāmasundara to play Holī, sakhīs state, “Oh Naughty One! Come for playing Holī today. Yesterday, finding Kishorī Jī alone, You had completely drenched Her with colour. Today, lakhs of gopīs have accompanied Kishorī Jī for playing Holī.” At this, Shyāmasundara, too, called out His friends saying, “Come soon. See, lasses of Braja are challenging us!” And that was it! One sakhī grappled with one cowherd boy each and Kishorī Jī with Shyāmasundara in the play of Holī. Thus, a fiery Holī began between the two groups. Every lane of Gahvaravana was muddy with red gulāla and red-coloured water thrown by pichakārīs. In the meanwhile, Manasukhā came up with a joke in his mind, and calling his friends, he said, “Oh friends! Just listen to me. Lālā (Shrī Kṛishṇa) has been defeated and bound by Lālī (Shrī Rādhā). Now all of us should immediately run to our respective homes, otherwise, we, too, will be tied like Him.” Before Shyāmasundara could clarify that Manasukhā was actually telling a lie, all cowherd boys ran away. Now, left alone, Shyāmasundara was really tied up by the sakhīs and was taken towards Kishorī Jī’s palace. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī inquired a gopī about what happened after reaching the palace. She replied, ‘Don’t ask that. Ṭhākura Jī was treated very badly.’
