Shri Radha Bal Leela Madhuri · Pad 7

lalī ke alasāne dou naina

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

(The fascinating scene of Kishorī Jī getting up from Her bed in the morning.) Kishorī Jī’s eyes are filled with drowsiness. Although Mother Kīrti has propped Her up in bed, still Her eyes don’t open anyhow. She falls repeatedly on the bed even after being supported by Her mother. The charm of this scene is beyond description. Mother Kīrti is gently but repeatedly shaking Kishorī Jī out of Her slumber, caressing Her softly and wheedling Her with sweet words. When Kishorī Jī still does not get up, she says to Her, “If You don’t get up, I won’t be Your mother anymore. I’ll become Shrīdāmā’s mother and am going to give all the butter to him only.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says that hearing these words of Her mother, Kishorī Jī finally opened Her eyes, but in accordance with the nature of a child, a little feeling of anger mixed with envy was evident from Her eyebrows.
