Shri Krishna Bal Leela Madhuri · Pad 93

sakhī! moya, dai jā dadhi ko dāna

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

(Lalitā sakhī is passing through Sāṁkarī galī in Barasānā to sell her curd and Shrī Kṛishṇa, along with His friends, has blocked her path.) He says - Oh sakhi! Don’t you know that I am the king of Braja and you have to pay tax to Me in the form of curd? Where do you think you’re going, walking with such haughty steps without paying tax? Lalitā answered, “Don’t tangle with me! Don’t think me to be an ordinary gopī; I am Lalitā, the supreme among all the sakhīs of Vrishabhānunandinī. It is sad that, in spite of having lived in Braja for so long, You still don’t know that Shrī Rādhikā Jī is the queen of Braja. Who cares for You? So leave me alone and proceed on Your own way. Otherwise I’ll go straight to Mother Yashodā and You can well understand the consequence by just thinking about her stick.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Bhagwan Kṛishṇa, then, replied thus, ‘Oh Lalite! Don’t threaten Me with Maiyā’s stick because I have become immune to it by now. But there is no way you will escape today without giving us curd.”
