Shri Krishna Bal Leela Madhuri · Pad 90

mohana! mohiṁ na āṁkhi dikhāyo

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

(In the Sāṁkarī galī of Barasānā, the discussion of Kishorī Jī with Shyāmasundara who is forcibly demanding butter from Her.) Rādhikā Jī says, “Oh Mohana! Don’t try to dominate Me by showing Me Your frowning eyes. Leave My path. You cannot get butter by fighting for it. Perhaps You are not aware that I am the daughter of King Vṛishabhānu of Barasānā. Now, Your well-being lies in Your quick departure along with all Your cowherd friends. Don’t provoke Me. You graze the cows everyday, that is why, You, perhaps, want to control even Me by force. Who is not aware of Your reality? Nobody knows who and where Your parents are. You are extremely black-complexioned, and even by caste You are ahīra.” Hearing this, Bhagwan Kṛishṇa was very furious. He gestured to His cowherd friends to loot the butter. According to His gestures, the cowherd friends plundered the curd and butter of all the maidens of Braja. Meanwhile, the most clever gopī, Vishākhā, getting irritated, poured the entire pot of curd on Bhagwan Kṛishṇa’s head so that wherever He goes, His crime becomes apparent. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Seeing Bhagwan Kṛishṇa fully bathed with curd, even I started laughing with the gopīs, clapping my hands, and Shrī Kṛishṇa was left embarrassingly annoyed.”
