Shri Krishna Bal Leela Madhuri · Pad 89
maiyā! maiṁ to mohini-rūpa banaihauṁ
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Little Kṛishṇa tells His mother, “Maiyā! I will put on the guise of a bewitching young maiden. Wearing a heavily plaited lehaṁgā, I will cover My head with a chunarī. I will have My forehead decorated with a bindī, and the parting of the hair filled with sindūra. Braiding My hair nicely and wearing a nose-ring and a besara in the nose, I will apply collyrium in My eyes. Wearing a two-stringed necklace embracing My neck and various other pearl-chains, I shall put on a tight bodice on My chest. Having worn bracelets, bangles and gem-studded kaṅkaṇas around My wrists, I will decorate the palms of My hands with red henna. Having a long veil on, I will act so bashfully that veritable bashfulness will feel abashed. Bearing the name of Sāṁvarī sakhī, I will embarrass even a royal swan by My intoxicating gait. Yesterday, Chandrāvalī had deceived Me, today, I too shall cheat her.” In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, “Thus, after having deceived Chandrāvalī, I will settle score with her for deceiving Me.”
