Shri Krishna Bal Leela Madhuri · Pad 83

mātu! sunu sāṁchī sāṁchī bāta

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

(Bhagwan Kṛishṇa is trying to prove Himself innocent to Mother Yashodā, who is extremely angry with Him because of the gopīs’ repeated complaints against Him.) “Oh Mother! I am telling you the truth; listen carefully. Yesterday, I was bathing in the river Yamunā with My friends when these gopīs called Me, saying, ‘Oh Shyāmasundara! Come here, we have something to tell You’. But, Oh Maiyā! I didn’t go to them. Then, the gopīs threateningly said, ‘Very well, go to Your mother, and we will see You.’ These gopīs make Me lift up their pitchers heavy with water. They are so many and I am alone, what can I do? Maiyā, all these gopīs repeatedly hit My cheeks with their knuckles, laugh shamelessly, and whenever I don’t obey them, they get angry with Me and repeatedly threaten Me, saying, ‘If You don’t listen to us, we will make false complaints against You to Your Maiyā.” In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, Bhagwan Kṛishṇa says, “Maiyā, these gopīs are so false that they make a mountain without even a molehill.” (There are many women who make mountains out of molehills, but these are even worse.)
