Shri Krishna Bal Leela Madhuri · Pad 76
pakari gayo chorata mākhana chora
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Shyāmasundara was caught red-handed while stealing butter. Entering the lonely house of a gopī, Shyāmasundara was eating butter. In the meantime, the gopī came from behind and forcibly caught hold of both His hands. Tying them with a rope, she brought Him to Mother Yashodā and severely complained about Him. At this, Shyāmasundara fabricated a story, and said, “Maiyā! I was not committing any theft.” In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, “All I was doing was to cool My hands which were burning due to the heat of rubies studded in My bracelets, by drowning them in the pot of cool butter.”
