Shri Krishna Bal Leela Madhuri · Pad 58
kānha tuma, māṁgata kaiso dāna
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
One sakhī says to naughty Shyāmasundara, who is asking for the alms of yoghurt, “Oh Kṛishṇa! What kind of alms are You asking for? One type is that which is given to beggars, in which the beggar asks for the alms with humbleness, not with pride like You. If You say that You are not a beggar, therefore the alms You are asking for is that which is given with respect, then listen, such type of alms is given only to brahmans, while You are a declared ahīra by caste. If You further say that even astrologers, though they are not brahmans are given alms with respect for the appeasement of evil stars, then listen, Oh Astrologer!” says the sakhī, in the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, “all my stars are absolutely in my favour. Therefore, go to some other village with Your almanac and book of astrology.”
