Shri Krishna Bal Leela Madhuri · Pad 37
kānha mama, jāgo jīvana prāna!
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Waking up the sleeping child Kṛishṇa, Mother Yashodā says, “Oh Dearer to me than my life! Wake up. See, the Sun-God has come to wake You up; now get up at once. Just listen; Dhanasukha, Manasukha, Shrīdāmā and other friends of Yours have been calling You loudly.” But the more Mother Yashodā tries to wake Him up, the more obstinately Shyāmasundara continues to sleep pulling over His yellow garment as a sheet. At this, Mother Yashodā irritatingly said, “Fine, don’t get up. I am going to give all the butter to Baladāū right now. You continue sleeping.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “As soon as Shyāmasundara, who was greedily fond of butter, heard this, He immediately got up, bending and swaying in the after-intoxication of sleep. Mother Yashodā too hugged and kissed Him with great love.”
