Prakirna Madhuri · Pad 5
chhuvo jani pyāre!, mohiṁ ḍara lāge
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
A maiden of Braja, talking in the intricate language of love, says to Shyāmasundara, “Oh Beloved! Don’t touch my body, I feel afraid. I am still unmarried and so are You. Oh captivating flute-player! The matter will spread everywhere in just a couple of days. It is as impossible to hide it as to conceal the moon by covering it with hands. Therefore, oh Beloved! Love only from a distance, otherwise people will start shouting obscene slogans about us.” In the meanwhile, Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī said, “Oh sakhi! Why do you care for the decorum of the world and the Vedas? These are hindrances in love; therefore, it is not justified to give them undue lift.”
