hāya! sakhi, kaise hvai gaye shyāma
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
(The gopīs’ lamentation in Shyāmasundara’s separation.) Oh sakhi! How unbelievable Shyāmasundara has become now! How has He, who could not endure even half a moment of Kishorī Jī’s separation, become so cruel that He abandoned all maidens of Braja, along with that same Kishorī Jī? That the Beloved will renounce the manner of love like this is absolutely incredible. I am well acquainted with the Beloved’s love towards us; therefore I am not at all prepared to accept that Shyāmasundara would be in peace from within. In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, “Still, there lingers the doubt in the heart sometimes that Shyāmasundara is ātmārāma (self-contented because of being full of endless bliss).”
