hāya! hiya, kaiso tava akrūra!
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Imprecating Akrūra at the time of Shyāmasundara’s departure to Mathurā, the gopīs state, “Oh Akrūra! How cruel-hearted you are! Oh Akrūra! Don’t take the Beloved of Braja-maidens away from them. We beseech you again and again, sacrificing ourselves on you and putting the dust of your feet on our forehead. We are begging you for the alms of the vermilion of our suhāga. We cannot bear our Beloved’s separation even for a moment.” In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, (the gopīs add) “Oh Akrūra! Protect the honour of your name which means merciful, otherwise the whole Braja will drown in the flood of unbearable grief.”
