hameṁ basa, eka shyāma soṁ kāma
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Maidens of Braja, sending a message to Shyāmasundara through Uddhava, state, “Oh Uddhava! Whether Shyāmasundara comes or not, He alone will remain ours. Tell Mādhava that the gopīs have said, ‘Oh Shyāmasundara! We accept that You are self-contented, but even we are not lesser than You in the least. Wherever we turn our eyes, we see only You. All of us are selfless lovers. We do not have any desire of our own. The one who loves You for the sake of her own happiness is Kubjā, who is dearer to You than Your life. We still continuously indulge in divine merry-making with you, in the groves, daily, as we used to do before.” Jagaduru Shrī Kripālu Jī comments, “These maidens of Braja are blessed in the whole world and blessed is their selfless love!”
