surati nahiṁ, bisarati sundara-shyāma

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

A gopī says in Shyāmasundara’s separation, “Oh sakhi! Shyāmasundara’s lovely visage refuses to vacate my heart even by mistake. Oh sakhi! Since the second my eyes fell on Shyāmasundara, more beautiful than Beauty itself, I have been sold without a price and He has bought me free of cost. The fascinating sight of His mischievous side-glance and delicate smile is just worth watching! That sight permanently resides in my eyes and the heart.” In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, the gopī says, “Oh sakhi! I am not the only one who has been maddened thus, but all the maidens of Braja have become crazy after Him.”
