sakhī! sunu, samaya hota balawāna
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
A virahiṇī says to her friend, “Oh sakhi! Time is extremely powerful. That was also a day when beloved Shyāmasundara used to appease us and we used to do māna again and again. But today trying to appease Him, we are about to lose our life in His separation, yet He does not even listen to us. Oh sakhi! That was also a day when Shyāmasundara could not live without us even for a moment but today, overwhelmed in His love, we are yearning for Him unceasingly, yet Shyāmasundara’s mind continues to remain engrossed in Kubjā. Oh sakhi! A day was even that when Shyāmasundara was a toy in our hands and we used to make Him play on His flute whenever we desired just in exchange for a little buttermilk. But today,” in the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, “that same Shyāmasundara has become extremely rare like a Sycamore-flower.”
