sakhī! ye, kānana bahuta bure
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
A virahiṇī says, “Oh sakhi! Both of my ears are very bad. Since the moment they heard the melodies of Shyāmasundara’s flute, they have sided with Him. I am tired of persuading to bring them round, but these unworthy ears do not listen to me at all. After making me hear the maddening music of His flute, Shyāmasundara hid in the creepers but I remained standing right there with my eyes closed. These ears did not let me come back.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Oh sakhi! Why do you blame these ears? It is only because of them that your heart has become impregnated with Shyāmasundara’s love. Therefore, they deserve praise, not blame.”
