sakhī! ye, kāre saba ṭhagahāra
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
A virahiṇī, suffering from the separation of Shyāmasundara, irritatingly says, “Oh friend! All who are black are deceitful. Take the example of a papīhā who loves the clouds of Svāti constellation with exclusive devotion. He keeps on calling his beloved by the sound of ‘pī-pī’ day and night, but even then that black cloud ignores him and roams with lightning. Next, take the example of a cuckoo. She is also black; therefore, with her heart full of deceit, she leaves her children with a crow for their upbringing. Also see a bee. He, too, is black; he selfishly drinks the juice of innumerable flowers and after drinking the juice, leaves those flowers forever. The inference is that he does not love any flower. In exactly the same way, Shyāmasundara, who is also black, is enjoying Kubjā’s company in Mathurā, giving us the pain of separation.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Of what avail is this wailing now, when you have already lost your chance of winning? The implication is that now, your goal will be attained only through that black Shyāmasundara; therefore why are you criticizing Him?”
