sakhī! yaha, bad̤a acharaja mohiṁ āvata
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
A virahiṇī says to her intimate friend, “Oh friend! The rasika saints place the sweetness of the Beloved’s separation on a higher plane than the sweetness of happy association with Him. This has always surprised me. According to me, this saying of the rasikas is only for adding fuel to the fire of the lovelorn gopīs’ suffering. According to what I understand, the fire of separation has gotten even more temperature than the temperature which exists in the gross material fire. Otherwise, why would a virtuous wife, fearing the fire of separation, prove her fidelity by burning herself happily along with her husband’s body at the latter’s death?” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “This is not something to be said or heard; to understand or make someone understand. This is something which happens to the heart and is known only by the experienced heart of a virahiṇī.”
