sakhī! mohiṁ, bhayeu bidhātā bāma
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
A virahiṇī says, “The Creator has glanced at us sinisterly. Oh sakhi! Observe, Shyāmasundara had told us that He would be back the day next, but even after making us yearn for years together, He has not come. During the moments of His sweet association, we used to imprecate Brahmā (the Creator) for making eyelids on eyes. To me, it seems that it is due to this reason that Brahmā got angry and gave us Shyāmasundara’s separation. If this is true, we beg his forgiveness, falling at his feet.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says that the maidens of Braja are begging forgiveness from that same Brahmā, who, in the guise of a beggar, entreats them to bless him with the dust of their feet.
