sakhī! kou, deu baida bulavāya
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
An innocent gopī, who is madly in love with Shyāmasundara and suffering from the pangs of separation, thinks her love to be sickness and says to her friend, “Oh sakhi! I have many physical ailments, so let someone go and fetch a doctor. I feel as if some boil has come up in my heart because it is paining again and again and even my heart is beating faster and faster. It appears as if someone is pricking my heart with needles. My whole body is burning with the fever of malaria and I pass sleepless nights. Finding all diseases continuously increasing, my eyes keep on shedding torrents of tears. Oh sakhi! One usually dies from only one disease, whereas I have many.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī comments sarcastically, “Oh lovelorn sakhi! These ailments are actually very serious. What you have gone through so far is nothing. Wait and see what happens in future. These ailments can disappear only when your beloved Shyāmasundara appears before you as a doctor.”
