sakhī! kou, kou upāya batarāya

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

Afflicted with the pain of Shyāmasundara’s separation, a gopī says, “Oh sakhi! Tell me some such device, which will make me forget Shyāmasundara completely. He has become too heartless to send even a letter since He left. I experience such an excruciating pain in His separation that it feels as if the soul would just leave the body. I am exhausted. Oh! The more I try to forget Him, the more I am reminded of Him.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Oh sakhi! There is no way of forgetting the giver of the Divine bliss, Shyāmasundara. Therefore, every effort to do so is bound to result in failure.”
