sakhī! ina kānana kā na karī
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
A virahiṇī says, “What is there which my ears did not do? First of all, that Flute player poisoned these ears with the sweet melodies of His flute. Then the ears inveigled the eyes. One day, these eyes got entangled with Shyāmasundara’s eyes. After seeing Him once, they started pestering me to see Him again and again. The consequence was that I was injured by the arrows of Shyāmasundara’s eyes.” In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, “No sooner was I attacked by the arrows of His ogles than I fell on the ground, being completely oblivious of everything. Thus, it is because of these ears that I have reached the point of death, now. Oh Shyāmasundara! Please save me, somehow.”
