lakho jani, kānha kī musakāna

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

A virahiṇī, irritated in Shyāmasundara’s separation, warns the worldly people in the following way – Oh worldly souls! If you want to keep your worldly reputation safe, don’t see Shyāmasundara’s smile even by mistake, because no sooner do you see that smile than you will no longer care for the duties enjoined in the Vedas concerning your family, caste etc. Your egotism and self-pride, which inspires you to enter not only into discussions but also into counter-arguments and wrong modes of reasoning over spiritual matters, will be destroyed. Your vanity, due to which you always think and say ‘I am the greatest, I am the greatest’ will disappear like camphor as soon as you see Bhagwan Kṛishṇa. Oh worldly beings! After seeing that smile once, you will constantly shed tears, declaring yourself to be sinner, mean and the most fallen one. Not only this, but spoilt yourself, you will also spoil others. This alone will become Your continuous occupation. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī most humbly says for himself, “As a result of our bad actions in past lives, we are lucky to be blind since our birth. (The one who is blind since his birth cannot see anything at all.) Along with this, we are also very cunning and knowledgeable. Therefore, for us, the question of falling into the danger of Shyāmasundara’s smile does not arise at all.”
