manabhāvana sāvana āya re
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
A virahiṇī says, “The alluring month of Sāwana has come but the Beloved has not come. Sakhi! Look, clouds are frightening me by thundering in the sky. The lightning is, as if teasing me by flashing. The peccable papīhā is uttering ‘piu piu’ (i.e. Oh Beloved! oh Beloved!) as if to add fuel to the fire of Shyāmasundara’s separation. The cuckoo seems to taunt me by cooing in her sweet voice. The peacocks, dancing all around, appear to make me oblivious of myself through their dance.” In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, the sakhī says, “If my Beloved comes right now, all these will be left embarrassed.”
