bāra ika, āo prāṇādhāra!
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
The gopīs of Braja, suffering from the intense pain of separation from Shyāmasundara after His departure for Mathurā, beseechingly state: “Oh Lord of our life, Shyāmasundara! Come back to us just once. If You are afraid of our rude behaviour towards You, then rest assured, we will never abuse You again. From now on, instead of addressing You as a cowherd boy, we will address You as a prince. Instead of chanting ‘Rādhā-Kṛishṇa’, we will chant ‘Kubjā-Kṛishṇa’. Oh Shyāmasundara! We will never again call You Nandakumāra (i.e. the son of Nanda), rather we will call You Vāsudeva (i.e. the son of Vasudeva). All the inhabitants of Braja will henceforth call You ‘Mahārāja’ (king) and shower flowers on You.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “If You cannot return to us on the ground of being our Beloved, then come on the basis of being our king at least, if nothing else, and we will satisfy our longing by looking at You with the right of a subject.”
