Virah Madhuri · Pad 117
piya binu, kaisehuṁ jiya nahiṁ chaina
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
A virahiṇī tells her intimate friend, “Hāi! Hāi! My mind refuses to be at peace even for a moment without my beloved Shyāmasundara. Both my eyes have become mad for the sight of the Beloved and are very obstinately demanding for Him. I spend my days shedding tears, and nights, counting the stars. Again and again, my heart cries in pain and there involuntarily comes the sound, ‘Beloved, Beloved’ full of sighs from my mouth. Oh sakhi! For how long can I hide my love? Is it ever possible to hide the moon with your two hands?” In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, the virahiṇī’s friend says to her, “I had warned you in the very beginning that you must try your very best to avoid the loving side-glances of Shyāmasundara, but you turned a deaf ear to my advice. Now, it is all bound to happen and you must go through all this.”
