piya āvana kahi gaye, āye nā
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
A virahiṇī says, “Oh sakhi! Beloved Shyāmasundara had promised to come back, but I don’t know why He has not come. Even His not coming back does not matter much. What really aggrieves me is that He did not call me either. That He did not call me is again not as painful as the realization that He did not send even a message. Shyāmasundara has become extremely cruel; He does not quench even the thirst of our eyes. If I knew this before, I would have warned all never to love Him with parakīyā bhāva.” In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī (the virahiṇī adds), “Oh Beloved! Now You come soon. What will You lose in gracing us with Your blissful sight just once?”
