chalyo kita, lai prānana akrūra
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
(The bitter utterance of the gopīs towards Akrūra at the time of Shyāmasundara’s departure to Mathurā.) Oh Akrūra! Where are you taking my life, Shyāmasundara? You don’t know that He alone is the vermilion of the suhāga of all the maidens of Braja. Why do you want to kill countless Braja-women? Shyāmasundara is the very soul of Braja-maidens. You tell yourself, how can the body survive without the soul? In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, “How can Braja-gopīs remain alive in separation from their Beloved with whom they used to bathe daily in the ever new bliss of divine love?”
