chhinahiṁ chhina nainana nīra bhare
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
A virahiṇī says, “Oh sakhi! My eyes get filled with tears moment after moment. These arbitrary eyes got entangled with Shyāmasundara’s eyes. His eyes took away the life of my eyes by injuring them with His sharp ogles. Consequently, my eyes are continuously shedding tears now, and Shyāmasundara’s eyes, because of having won, are smiling slowly. I am unnecessarily being killed in between, in the battle between my eyes and those of Shyāmasundara.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says in humour, “Oh sakhi! Haven’t you heard the saying, ‘to bark up the wrong tree’ i.e. ‘to suffer for someone else’s crime’?”
