kabahuṁ jani, kārena kou patiyāya
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Fretting and fuming in Shyāmasundara’s separation, a virahiṇī says to her friend, “Oh sakhi! None should ever believe a black-complexioned person even if He is God Himself. In Tretāyuga, there was the black-complexioned Rāma whom people call God. According to Vālmīki’s statement, He killed Bālī stealthily like a hunter, and oh sakhi! He renounced even a wife like Sītā, the crest-jewel of chaste women, leaving Her alone in a forest. According to Purāṇas, there has been a black-complexioned person by the name of Vāmana, to whom Bali had surrendered his body, mind, life and everything, still He bound Bali and sent him to the nether world. Now, one more black-complexioned person is Shyāmasundara, whom the Vedas declare to be God. He, after plundering everything we had, has sent Uddhava to teach us yoga and detachment.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī humorously says, “May God save us from these black-complexioned Gods!”
