ūdho hvai gaye prema adhīra
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Receiving the alms of divine love from the maidens of Braja, Uddhava has become overwhelmed with it. His knowledge is completely drowned in the ocean of love. Burning in the fire of Shyāmasundara’s separation, his mind refuses to be at peace by any means whatsoever. Frequently holding creepers and trees, he embraces them with an incessant flow of tears from his eyes. He is wailing in groves, saying repeatedly, “Oh Lord of my life!” Like someone possessed by a spirit, he sometimes dances and sometimes sings. He has even lost the consciousness of his body. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “I sacrifice myself on that love of gopīs which produced pangs of separation even in the prosaic heart of gyanīs.”
