ūdho!, haiṁ mādho ṭhagahāra
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
The maidens of Braja say to Uddhava, “Oh Uddhava! Your friend, Mādhava is the leader of deceivers. That He sent you to impart knowledge to us actually has the figure of speech, shlesha in it. The real meaning of it is that you should surrender your knowledge to us forever and take the gift of love from us in return. Your friend is extremely fond of sportive displays. Nothing He does is straight. If He chances to meet innocent people like you, He befools them as He has tricked you.” In the meanwhile, Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī said – “Oh Uddhava! Even then, your friend is your well-wisher. The business of receiving divine love in exchange for illusory knowledge is not one of loss.”
