ūdho!, ihai gyāna ko sāra
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
The maidens of Braja explain to Uddhava that the essence of knowledge lies in renouncing attachment to worldly objects up to those of the realm of Brahmā, as well as even the dualistic liberation of four types (sārshṭi, sāmīpya sālokya and sārūpya) and practising unceasing devotion to Shyāmasundara with absolute selflessness. Just as merely by knowing a King, one cannot receive any gift or prize from him; and just as one cannot satisfy one’s hunger only by attaining the knowledge of dainty dishes of the six flavours or by thinking about them; in the same way, says Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, one cannot experience divine bliss only by shallow knowledge.
