ūdho!, yaha vedānta vichāra
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
The maidens of Braja say to Uddhava – “Oh Uddhava! The actual philosophy of the Vedānta is that the individual soul (Jīva), Brahma and Māyā – all these three elements are beginning-less. The Almighty, whose powers Māyā and Jīva, the individual soul, are, is called Brahma; He alone is the creator of the world. The power called Jīva, i.e. the individual soul, is under the control of Brahma – such is the declaration of the Vedas. The individual soul and Brahma are one in that sense only in which body and soul are one. This is what non-dualism really means.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “But the individual soul is utterly minute, whereas Brahma is all-pervasive. Know this distinction between them to be the essence of dualism.”
