Virah Madhuri · Pad 43
ūdho!, tuma nahiṁ jānata gyāna
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Gopīs, addressing the knowledgeable Uddhava, state, “Oh Uddhava! You are absolutely ignorant in the name of knowledge. Even if we accept that you have the knowledge of Brahma, this will be contradicted by the saying of the Vedas that Brahma is beyond the reach of mind and intellect. And even if we go against the Vedas and accept that Brahma can be known through the intellect, then intellect will be proved to be the illuminator of Brahma, whereas Brahma is irrefutably verified to be the illuminator of all. Besides, the Vedas also declare God to be the knower of all, how then, can that Brahma be known through any form of knowledge? If it becomes possible, then that very knowledge will prove to be the knower.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Uddhava! You should surrender your knowledge which is actually full of ignorance to the gopīs and receive from them the rarest divine love-bliss, drinking which you will be gratified eternally.”
