Hori Madhuri · Pad 28

horī khelo na, shyāma saṁga kou gorī

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

Warning her friends against the mischievous behaviour of Shyāmasundara on the occasion of Holī, a sakhī says, “Oh sakhīs! None of you should play holī with Shyāmasundara, because under the pretext of playing holī, He behaves very untowardly with sakhīs. To everyone He addresses as, ‘Oh My darling!’ without any hesitation, and also asks them to accept Him as their husband. That naughty Shyāmasundara unhesitatingly raises their veil with a jerk and smears gulāla on their cheeks. What to say more, that Shameless one also asks them to come with Him in the groves. And while saying so, He also attacks their heart with the arrows of His ogles.” Hearing all this, Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says to the sakhī, “Why are you beguiling other sakhīs. I know very well that you love Shyāmasundara in a hole and corner way.”
