sakhī! saba, hvai gaye lālahiṁ lāla
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Describing the scene of Holī in Vṛindāvana to her intimate friend, a sakhī says, “Oh sakhi! Today, in the Holī-celebration of the divine couple Shrī Rādhā-Kṛishṇa, so much coloured water was sprayed from the pichakārīs and so much gulāla was thrown that everything animate as well as inanimate became red. Shyāmasundara became red and so became Kishorī Jī. All the maidens of Braja became red and all the trees and ponds became red as well. Parrots, cuckoos, swans and other birds also became red. All the cows, the dust of Braja and all the cowherd boys were also covered with red colour.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī comments that from outside, they were red with the red colour of Holī and from inside, they were drenched with the red colour of Shyāmasundara’s love.
