lāla bhaye, lāla-gulālana lāla

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

Oh sakhi! Shyāmasundara’s body has become thoroughly red with red gulāla. Today, gathering in the grove-lanes and filling their bags with gulāla, the gopīs of Braja flung so much gulāla that Shyāmasundara’s hair, forehead and cheeks – all became red. His guñjamālā, the necklace of gems and His vanamālā, all became red as well. His pītāmbara, staff and eyebrows became red as well. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Seeing Nandalāla thus red with red gulāla, the group of the Braja-maidens expressed their joy by clapping their hands.”
