lalā! yaha, bhalā kauna so phāga
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Reprimanding Shyāmasundara on the occasion of Holī, a sakhī sarcastically says, “Oh deceitful Shyāmasundara! Do You really know how to play Holī? All You know is coercive dealing as if You are fighting with someone. Is this the way of playing Holī? You are so courageous that as soon as Kishorī Jī starts playing Holī, You are seen running on the street out of fear. The saints call You the Supreme Being i.e. God, but You blemish that title. Besides, You do not know any raga, tāna or ālāpa, all You know is to laugh, joke and giggle.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī agrees with the sakhī and humorously says, “Oh sakhi! How can a crow ever know the gait of the king of swans?”
