Hori Madhuri · Pad 10
bhājo bhājo rī, kānha lakhu horī te
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
On being defeated in the game of Holī, Shyāmasundara took to His heels, seeing which a sakhī exclaims to her friend, “Oh sakhi! Look! Look at a wonder! The son of Nanda is running away, getting defeated by a girl. Oh sakhi! He who ate up the butter of the whole Braja, some on being offered, some by stealing and some through highhandedness is running out of fear making His way through the creepers of Gahvaravana, leaving even His flute and pītāmbara behind. After running to a distance, Shyāmasundara looked behind and said embarrassingly, “I am not actually running away. The thing is, it does not behove Me, the Supreme Person, to play Holī with a girl.” Listening to these words of Shyāmasundara, Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī affectionately said to Him, “You are still at a short distance. Say this after reaching Your home.”
