bhājo bhājo rī, kānha pakad̤o, pakad̤o
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
In the festival of Holī, one sakhī says to others, “Look, look, Shyāmasundara is fleeing from here. Catch Him! Catch Him! Oh sakhīs! Let us teach this mischief-maker a proper lesson today, so that the every day conflict comes to an end forever. In the month of Phāguna, this charming rogue conceitedly stands around everywhere, ready to play Holī. Hence, let us all gather and surround Him. Then, with much caution, lest He should run away, let us tie Him up. Afterwards, dressing Him up as the buffoon of Holī, let us mockingly ask Him whether He will ever dare to overawe our swāminī, Kishorī Jī, again,” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Then, this Naughty one will become absolutely helpless and with the look of defeat in His eyes, will merely gaze at our face, waiting to be released.”
