Murali Madhuri · Pad 8
ravati kahuṁ, muralī kuñja kuṭīra
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Oh sakhi! The flute is being played melodiously in the groves somewhere. Oh sakhi! Just look! The herds of cows with their eyes closed are drinking the nectar of the flute as if through the bowls of their ears. The calves, spell-bound in the ecstatic music of the flute, have forgotten to drink their mother’s milk although they are hungry and the milk, flowing from the udders, is sweetening their mouths. Cuckoos, parrots, peacocks etc. enchanted and enthralled by the divine music are falling from trees on the ground in a swoon. The tears of joy are raining from the eyes of paramahansas like Shiva, Sanaka etc. In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, Oh sakhi! To what extent can I say? Look, even the current of the river Yamunā, which is ever-flowing by nature, has become still due to the mesmerizing music of the flute.
