Murali Madhuri · Pad 7

madhura-dhuni, muralī bajāvata kānha

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

Shrī Shyāmasundara is playing soul-stirring melodies on His flute. The sound of the flute forcibly captivated the hearts of Brahmā, Vishnu and Shaṅkara, and terminated the trance-meditation of the gyānīs who were absorbed in the Impersonal form of God. Hearing the sweet sound of the divine flute, the movable creatures like birds and beasts became inert; and immovable creatures, like stones, began to melt and flow out as if in motion. When the gopīs heard the flute, they became oblivious of the family decorum and ran out of their houses. Even the moon and the stars forgot their motion and stood still. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī humbly remarks, “In the whole world, I alone remained unaffected by the flute. I stood unmoved like a mountain.”
