Murali Madhuri · Pad 6
baṁsuriyā, sakhi! yā lehu chhināya
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Oh sakhi! Someone snatch this flute. This good-for-nothing, acting like a knife drowned in poison, makes everyone cry. Even the trees - tāla, tamāla, rasāla, sāla etc., are as if melting and shedding tears from their eyes. Look! Peacocks, partridges, parrots and cuckoos are constantly giving way to tears from their unblinking eyes. What to say more, even Bhagwan Shaṅkara who, opening his third eye, had reduced Kāmadeva to ashes, is also bursting into tears of joy. In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, the sakhī says, “Oh sakhi! Thus, this flute is causing heartburn to everyone. Let someone snatch it and burn it as well.”
