Murali Madhuri · Pad 5
arī sakhi! kyoṁ mo pai risiyāya
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
The flute says, “Oh sakhi! Why are you getting angry on me? You are questioning ironically, ‘Oh flute! What austerities have you practised?’ Sakhi! Only Shyāmasundara knows what mortification I have gone through. I spent my whole life practising asceticism standing on one foot in a forest. I emaciated my whole body, tolerating winter, summer and rain. Afterwards, I allowed all my limbs to be cut and pierced at eight places.” In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, “It is only after going through all this suffering that Shyāmasundara has made me drink the nectar of His lips. One does not get this seat by mere talks.”
