Murali Madhuri · Pad 1

ali! muralī ke bad̤a bhāga re

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

Oh sakhi! This flute is extremely blessed. I don’t know what great austerity it has practised to become so intimate with Shyāmasundara. Imbued with Shyāmasundara’s love, it unhesitatingly drinks the nectar of His lips day and night. Besides, sometimes, Shyāmasundara holds it in His hands and sometimes, clasps it to His heart. The inference is Shyāmasundara does not leave it even for a moment. Up to what extent can we say, even the greatest paramahansas like Shuka, Sanaka etc. and the greatest yogis like Bhagwan Shaṅkara etc. are mad for it. In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, the most concerning thing is that it also blemishes our ancestral propriety (because, mesmerizing us by its enchanting music, it forces us to forget all decorum).
