lakhyo piya, kuñja-bhavana bhananāta

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

(According to Kishorī Jī’s instructions, the sakhīs are on guard and the following is the description of what happens when Shyāmasundara enters the precincts of the well-guarded palace of groves.) Shyāmasundara saw the palace of arbours very desolate. The dismal appearance of the palace generated fear in His heart. Observing the sakhīs standing on guard all around the palace, He implores them to tell Him what the matter is, but He receives no reply from anyone of them. This makes Him even more distressed. In despair, He throws Himself at the feet of the sakhīs again and again, beseeching them with tears flowing down His eyes. But the sakhīs walk away with a jerk, casting angry looks at Him and poor Shyāmasundara is left alone to lie sobbing bitterly. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says that in the meanwhile, Lalitā ran to Kishorī Jī and told Her that Shyāmasundara had arrived.
