arī o lalite! sunu ika bāta
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
(On Kishorī Jī’s getting displeased, Ṭhākura Jī asks Lalitā sakhī to go and please Her somehow.) Oh Lalite! Please hearken to one prayer of Mine. Kishorī Jī is in the state of māna and I feel very much afraid even to go near Her to please Her. You are dearer to Me than My own life; therefore, accomplish this task of Mine, thinking Me as Your own. The fire of separation is burning My body. Even a moment without seeing Kishorī Jī is extremely painful to Me, appearing to be as long as a kalpa. Oh Lalite! I will be indebted to you forever and will do whatever you say. I beseech you to save My life. Saying thus, beloved Shyāmasundara started weeping bitterly, holding Lalitā’s feet. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says that seeing Shyāmasundara thus grief-stricken, Lalitā started to go for pacifying Kishorī Jī with a gentle smile on her face. (The smile meant, ‘Today, even the Beloved is experiencing like us what the agony of separation means.’ It is also meant ‘The Beloved always maintained a distance otherwise, but today, for His self-interest, how humble He has become!’.)
