kuṁvari binu, sūno saba sansāra
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
(Shyāmasundara’s lamentation in Kishorī Jī’s separation.) Without Kishorī Jī, the whole world seems empty to Me. Even the cool garlands of various flowers appear to Me like a herd of snakes ready to eat Me up. The pītāmbara has also become a burden for Me. The soft bed of new, tender mango-leaves also feels to Me as fearsome as an impaling stake. The moon, too, feels like burning as a ball of fire. Even the soothing words of sakhīs, which are actually sweeter than even nectar sound very terrible to Me. I feel stabbing pain in My heart upon hearing the cooing of a cuckoo, and the cool, gentle and perfumed breeze burns Me like the hot wind of summer. In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, Shyāmasundara adds, “To whom should I tell about My grief? Who else except Kishorī Jī can understand it?”
